The difference between trimmers and clippers?
The simple answer to this question is that a trimmer is for trimming hair and a clipper is used for clipping the coats of animals, i.e removing large quantities of hair. There are machines on the market that could double up as a trimmer and a clipper. These only make light duty clippers though. One point to remember, you cant expect a trimmer to do a job that a lighter duty clipper could not do. ie hog manes or feathers. Trimmers are much smaller to hold in the hand and have a much narrower blade. they cordless and rechargable, they are perfect for trimming hair in the hard to reach places on your horse as well as tidying the little bits you may have missed.
They are also ideal for introducing your young or nervous horse to clipping.
Remember to oil trimmer blades just as often as clipper blades
