Dog Trimmers and Clippers

Trimming your dog can save you a lot of money, time and stress and is usually a more pleasant experience for your dog. However, you do need a good set of trimmers.  Dog hair can be particularly tricky - far harder than other animal hair.  You need something that has the power to get through the animal's hair, has the blade selection to allow you to clip to the desired length, and it must be quiet with low vibrations - especially for nervous animals.  Cordless clippers are usually easiest to manage!

Heiniger Midi Trimmer: this is a great option for clipping all over your dog. It has an adjustable blade allowing you to change your cutting length.  It is powerful, but quiet and has low vibrations.  It can run from the battery or from the Mains.  It comes with a 2 year warranty and is made in Switzerland.  I love this trimmer!

Heiniger Mini Trimmer:  this is great for tidying up our dog, but wouldn't be my choice for a full clip.  It's a really good tool and very quiet and easy to use. Great for in between trims, or for finishing off a full trim.  It is a cordless trimmer, made in Switzerland and comes with a 2 year warranty.

Heiniger Saphir:  this is a very reliable trimmer that is easy to use. It is a favourite with vets.  The only downside is that it does not come with adjustable blades, so you are limited to the cut length of your blade.

Lister Adagio Trimmer: this is a great option for people who own horses!  It's a fantastic trimmer for both dogs and horses and the blade easily changes cutting length to give a professional looking finish!  This is probably my number one choice!  It can run from a battery or from the Mains and is very comfortable to hold.

Sierra Professional Trimmer:  this is a great option for those with dogs with relatively easy hair.  It's an amazing price and really comfortable to use. It has an adjustable blade so you can easily change the cutting length. It is a cordless trimmer that comes with 2 batteries.

Lister Libretto Max: this is a great option for people who also own horses!  It can run from the mains or from a battery, although the battery is not integral to the clipper and sits on a belt around your waist.  It is quite powerful.  The only downside is it does not come with adjustable blades.
