Since lockdown, we've all spent more time with our horses.  Our bond has got deeper, and those of us who have relied on others to clip our horse may have had to give it a go ourselves.  We've had lots of customers ask about the easiest horse clipper to use.  For the all round easiest horse clipper, Heiniger Xplorer may be it!  It is a cordless clipper, which is always less stressful because you don't need to worry about trailing leads that may bother your horse or get stepped on.  You do, of course, need to make sure the battery is charged, but the Xplorer battery charges very quickly,  in only 90 minutes, and will then clip for up to 2 hours.  The battery is in the handle of the clipper, so you don't have a battery attached to your belt.  This does make for a fractionally longer handle to the clipper, but this isn't a problem unless you have a very small pony.  There is also a charge level indicator on the charging unti, so you know how much battery power you have left.

What makes this clipper particulalry good for beginners, and a good all-round clipper for anyone, is the low noise and low vibrations.  This makes it much easier to get around nervous horses.  What's more, it is quite a powerful clipper so despite the low vibrations you're not compromising on speed and power.  This clipper can get through coarse hair, it can hog, manage feathers - it can even clip cattle.

You do need to tension the blades on the clipper, as you do with all full size clippers.  This isn't difficult to do, but it can put off people who are new to clipping.  If you want snap on blades, so you don't have to tension, you may like to consider the Heiniger Saphir Horse.  The Saphir Horse isn't as powerful as the Xplorer, but it's great for people with up to 3 horses.

The handle is nice and slim and the main grip point at 15.2 cm (where the thumb and first finger sit).

Main part of the handle is 17 cm around. The clipper is 29 cm long not including blades.

This are Li-ion combined with an intelligent charger. This charger can show the approximate state of charge so you can have an idea of what is left in the battery. The fast recharge time of 90 minutes is great so with a second battery you could continuously clip.
